Small kitchen organisers can make a cramped kitchen feel twice the size: shelves that double cupboard space, racks that use the back of a door, and drawer inserts that end the hunt for a teaspoon. They’re also exactly the kind of thing that turns up in the Black Friday sales.
But a sale price is only a good deal if the organiser actually fits your kitchen and the discount is real. So for each of these 10 Amazon finds, I’ve said what to measure before you buy. There’s also a simple way to check whether the Black Friday price is genuinely lower.
I haven’t listed prices because they change constantly, especially during the sales. Add the ones you like to your Amazon wish list now, and you’ll see when the price drops.
Short on time? My top 3 picks
- Stackable cupboard shelf risers: an instant second layer in any cupboard. Check today’s price on Amazon (ad)
- A pan lid and pan organiser rack: ends the avalanche of pans and lids. Check today’s price on Amazon (ad)
- A two-tier sliding under-sink organiser: turns the space under the sink into real storage. Check today’s price on Amazon (ad)
Before Black Friday: measure, list and check
- Measure your space. Write down the width, depth and height inside each cupboard, the thickness of your cupboard doors, and the space under the sink (allowing for the pipes). Most “it didn’t fit” returns come from skipping this.
- Make a short list of the problems you want to solve, such as “pans fall out” or “can’t see the spices”, and only buy organisers that solve them.
- Check the price history. Free tools like CamelCamelCamel and Keepa show what an Amazon item has cost over past months. If the “deal” was the normal price in the summer, it isn’t a deal.
It’s worth doing: when Which? tracked 175 products around Black Friday 2024, 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the sale period (Which?, November 2025).
Double your cupboard space
1. Stackable cupboard shelf risers
A riser adds a second level inside a cupboard, so plates, mugs or tins can sit on two layers instead of one tall stack.
Measure first: the cupboard’s width and depth, and the height between shelves. Look for adjustable or expandable risers if your cupboards are an unusual size.

2. Under-shelf hanging baskets
These slide onto an existing shelf and use the empty space underneath for wraps, foil, tea towels or bags.
Measure first: the shelf thickness (the basket’s clips have a maximum) and the gap below it.

3. Clear airtight food storage containers
Square or rectangular containers stack neatly and waste far less space than half-open packets. Being able to see what’s inside also stops you buying pasta or rice you already have, which saves money too.
Measure first: the cupboard height, so the tallest containers fit with room to lift the lid.

Use the doors and walls
4. Over-the-cupboard-door organiser
Hooks over the top of a cupboard door to hold cling film, foil, cleaning sprays or chopping boards, without any drilling, which is ideal if you rent.
Measure first: the door thickness and whether the door still closes with the hooks in place. Check the depth of the organiser against the shelves behind the door.

5. A magnetic knife strip
Gets knives out of a drawer or a bulky block and onto the wall, freeing up worktop space. Mount it out of children’s reach.
Measure first: the wall space, and check how it fixes. Some need screws, while others are adhesive, which matters if you rent.

Organise awkward pans and lids
6. A pan lid and pan organiser rack
Holds lids and pans upright like files, so you can take one out without the rest crashing down. One of the most satisfying fixes for a cramped kitchen.
Measure first: your largest lid, and the cupboard depth and height. Expandable racks adjust to different sizes.

Tame the drawers and the spices
7. Expandable cutlery drawer organiser
An expandable tray fills the whole drawer, with extra compartments for utensils, so nothing slides around.
Measure first: the inside width, depth and height of the drawer, not the front.

8. A tiered spice rack or drawer insert
Tiered racks let you see every jar at a glance, so you stop buying spices you already have. Drawer inserts lay jars on their side if you have a spare drawer.
Measure first: the cupboard or drawer, and the height of your spice jars.

Sort out the sink area
9. A two-tier sliding under-sink organiser
Pull-out drawers turn the dark, awkward space under the sink into usable storage for cleaning products and spare sponges.
Measure first: the width and depth, and where the pipes are. Many under-sink organisers have adjustable sections to fit around them.

10. A roll-up over-sink dish rack
Rolls out across the sink to dry dishes, then rolls away, so you don’t need a draining board on the worktop. Very handy in tiny kitchens.
Measure first: the width of your sink, edge to edge, and check the rack is longer than that.

How to tell a genuine Black Friday deal
- Look at the price history, not the crossed-out “was” price.
- Compare the same item elsewhere, using the exact product name and size.
- Read recent reviews for comments about fit and quality.
- Check the returns policy. Online purchases usually have a 14-day cancellation period after delivery (Citizens Advice).
- Ignore countdown timers. If it’s not on your list, let it go.
Free ways to organise a small kitchen first
- Declutter before you buy. Take everything out of one cupboard, and donate duplicates and things you never use.
- Keep the things you use daily at the front and at waist height.
- Use what you have: shoeboxes and clean jars make good drawer dividers and storage.
- Sell what you don’t need. Unused gadgets often sell on Facebook Marketplace or Vinted.
What I’d do first
- Declutter one cupboard and write down what’s still not working.
- Measure that space.
- Add one or two organisers that fix it to your Amazon wish list now.
- Check the price history in the sale before you buy.

Frequently asked questions
How do I organise a small kitchen?
Declutter first, then add space with shelf risers, under-shelf baskets and over-the-door organisers. Use a pan lid rack and a drawer organiser, and keep everyday items at the front.
What should I measure before buying kitchen organisers?
The inside width, depth and height of each cupboard and drawer, your shelf and door thickness, and the space under the sink around the pipes.
Are Black Friday deals on kitchen storage worth it?
Sometimes. Check the price history first, as Which? found most Black Friday products were the same price or cheaper at another time of year.
What are the best organisers for a rented kitchen?
Ones that don’t need drilling: over-the-door organisers, shelf risers, under-shelf baskets, drawer inserts and adhesive or freestanding racks.
