MoneySavvyUK is a personal finance and lifestyle publication. Its content is provided for general information and education and is not personalised financial, investment, mortgage, tax, legal or accounting advice.
Who writes MoneySavvyUK?
MoneySavvyUK is written by Dr Kalpana Govindaraasan, a UK-based mum, PhD scientist and researcher. I share my own experiences where relevant and research current information from authoritative sources. I am not an FCA-authorised financial adviser, accountant, tax adviser, mortgage adviser or solicitor.
Financial products and important decisions
Financial circumstances differ. Savings, investments, pensions, mortgages, insurance, credit and tax decisions can have significant consequences. Information on this site should not be treated as a personal recommendation to buy, sell, invest in or apply for a particular financial product. Where you need advice, use an appropriately qualified or regulated professional.
Investments
Investments can fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you put in. Tax treatment and allowances depend on circumstances and can change. Past performance or an example return does not guarantee a future result.
Earnings and savings examples
When I report a saving or amount I earned myself, I label it as my experience. Other figures may be examples used to explain a method. Neither is a guarantee that another reader will achieve the same result.
Accuracy and updates
I aim to verify time-sensitive financial information using authoritative UK sources and to show update dates where useful. Rates, prices, eligibility rules, offers and provider terms can change after publication, so check the current official or provider information before acting.
