Last updated: 27 October 2026. Christmas 2026 booking information; availability depends on your postcode and account.
Asda Christmas delivery slots are open, but booking a slot is only the first part of organising the Christmas food shop. You also need to save the order, check the right deadline and leave room in the budget for the things you actually want.
I would keep three questions in front of me: which day works, what is the full cost, and when must the basket be finalised?
I’m Dr Kalpana Govindaraasan, a PhD scientist and UK mum. This guide explains Asda’s published Food to Order process and how to avoid confusing delivery bookings with voucher promotions or Christmas savings cards.
Asda Christmas delivery slots: what is confirmed?
Asda’s Christmas page says Christmas slots are open to all customers. Its Food to Order instructions give 21–23 December for delivery or collection, with a 15 December checkout deadline for that range. Ordinary groceries can be amended until 11pm the day before delivery or collection.
The 21–23 December dates describe the advertised Food to Order service. Check the booking calendar for other ordinary grocery dates. Availability is local: an open booking window does not mean every postcode has every time available.
1. Start on Asda’s website
Go directly to Asda’s Christmas or groceries page, or use the official app. Sign in and check your delivery address before looking at the calendar. If you are collecting, check the store as carefully as the date.
Avoid following a “free voucher” message that takes you to an unfamiliar sign-up form. Booking a Christmas order does not require buying a code from someone on social media.
Keep the confirmation somewhere easy to find. If another household member will receive or collect the order, share the relevant details once it is booked.
2. Compare delivery and collection
A delivery is useful if travelling with bags is difficult or your week is crowded. Collection can work better if you will already be near the store. Look at the displayed fee and any minimum basket or small-order rules for the service you select.
Do not assume the cheapest appointment is cheapest overall. An awkward collection time can mean another journey, parking or a rushed extra shop.
If you need a comparison, use the supermarket Christmas delivery guide. For Tesco’s upcoming booking window, see the Tesco Christmas booking steps.
3. Reserve and check out
Asda says to choose a Christmas delivery or collection slot, add Food to Order items and check out to secure it. Selecting the slot alone is not the finished process.
Read the confirmation to check the date, time, address or store, and order details. If you cannot find confirmation, check the orders section of your account rather than assuming the trolley has reserved everything.
Be careful if you change the fulfilment method later. Check what happens to your appointment and products before accepting changes. A saved order with a useful confirmation is the point to work towards.
4. Separate your shopping lists
Food to Order is Asda’s pre-order range for festive centrepieces and other selected items. It is not simply another name for every grocery in your trolley.
List the special items first, then the ordinary groceries. Asda’s instructions give different amendment deadlines for these two groups, so keeping them separate makes the order easier to manage.
Before adding a centrepiece, check servings, ingredients, allergens, storage and cooking instructions on the actual listing. A festive description does not tell you whether something suits your household or how much fridge space it needs.
For the everyday side of the basket, my family shopping guide and the supermarket downshift challenge can help you choose where a cheaper option makes sense.
5. Put the deadlines somewhere visible

Asda’s Food to Order page says the last date to add those products and check out is 15 December. It says ordinary groceries can be amended until 11pm the day before delivery or collection.
Write down both deadlines, along with the booking date itself. Set aside time before the earlier deadline to check headcount, dietary requirements and which items you already have.
After editing, follow Asda’s checkout instructions and check that the revised order has saved. Do not leave a change sitting in a trolley and assume it will be included.
Check your order confirmation for any product-specific or local instructions. Those details matter more than a generic social media reminder.
6. Check the full cost
Your budget needs to include the food, the delivery or collection charge, and any relevant basket charges. If you buy a Delivery Pass, include its cost and commitment as well.
Asda’s Delivery Pass page gives the current plan rules. Check which days the plan covers and the qualifying basket spend. A pass benefit applies only when the order meets its terms.
Before paying for a subscription, estimate how many qualifying deliveries you would actually use. Compare that with paying for individual appointments, rather than assuming a pass automatically saves money.
The grocery savings calculator helps you look at the food budget, while my subscription review guide explains why it is useful to keep track of recurring commitments.
7. Keep the voucher separate
The £30-off-£60 new-customer offer is a different subject from Christmas slot booking. Save the Student now marks that offer as paused. While the offer is paused, do not build your Christmas basket around receiving a new code.
If you already have a code, read its own expiry date and eligibility rules and check whether the discount actually applies before paying. A report that sign-ups have paused does not establish what happens to every previously issued code.
Read the Asda voucher status guide for the separate checks. Delivery availability, account eligibility and a voucher discount each need their own confirmation.
8. Make a useful backup
If your preferred appointment is unavailable, consider a different day, a collection slot or another retailer. Keep checking only if you have a workable alternative; cancellations cannot be promised.
For shelf-stable groceries you already use, buying through ordinary shopping trips can reduce pressure on the final order. Check dates and storage space, and avoid buying duplicates because they look festive.
Keep gift planning separate through the gifts by age guide and the toy sale calendar. Visit the Christmas budget hub to organise food, gifts and activities together.
For a wider spending plan, explore my free UK money calculators, the grocery savings calculator and my guide to budgeting your take-home pay. If bills already leave little room, start with a money makeover before committing to extra Christmas spending.
What I’d do first

I would check the available appointments, choose a realistic day, and complete a sensible initial order. Then I would record the Food to Order deadline and ordinary grocery deadline, with a small list of things still to decide.
- Choose delivery or collection.
- Check out to save the order.
- Keep food deadlines separate.
Frequently asked questions
How to book Christmas slot Asda?
Sign in on Asda’s official website or app, check your address or collection store, choose an available Christmas slot, add the relevant items and complete checkout. Asda’s Food to Order page says to check out to secure the slot. Keep the order confirmation.
Are Asda Christmas delivery slots open to everyone?
Asda’s Christmas page says slots are now open to all customers. That describes access to booking, rather than a guarantee of availability. Enter your postcode or collection store to see which appointments are actually available for your order. Keep the relevant terms with your confirmation so you can check the conditions attached to your own order.
When do I need to finalise Asda Christmas Food to Order?
Asda gives 15 December as the last date to add Food to Order items and check out. Its instructions allow ordinary groceries to be amended until 11pm the day before delivery or collection. Check your confirmation for the rules attached to your own order.
Is the Asda £30-off-£60 voucher still available?
The deal listing checked on 27 October says Asda has paused it. Treat the offer as paused when planning a new order. If you already received a code, check its individual terms and the checkout result; do not assume it works on every Christmas order.
Is an Asda Christmas Savings Card the same as Asda Rewards?
No. Treat the Christmas Savings Card, Asda Rewards offers and grocery discount codes as separate products or promotions. Check the official terms for the one you hold. A savings-card bonus is not proof that you qualify for a new-customer grocery voucher.
Asda Christmas delivery slots: summary
- Choose delivery or collection.
- Check out to save the order.
- Keep food deadlines separate.
Book through Asda, complete checkout, keep the confirmation and record both amendment deadlines. Check the full cost before paying, and treat the paused voucher as a separate issue. Would collection or a different delivery day make your week easier?
