Last updated: October 2026. Delivery areas, minimum spends, fees and partner benefits can change. Check your postcode and checkout before ordering.
The old version promised you could “never pay for grocery or takeaway delivery again”. That was not a safe promise. Prime has useful delivery benefits, but postcode availability, minimum spends, service fees and partner terms all matter.
One-Day delivery
Prime includes One-Day Delivery on millions of eligible items to UK addresses. Eligibility depends on the product, stock, delivery address and order time.
Same-Day and Overnight
Amazon currently says eligible Same-Day and Overnight orders are available at no extra delivery cost in eligible postcodes when qualifying Amazon-dispatched items total more than £20. Below that threshold, Amazon lists a £1.99 delivery fee. Always check checkout because availability varies by postcode and item.
Amazon Day
Prime members can choose Amazon Day for eligible orders, allowing several purchases to arrive on a preferred day. This can be useful if you prefer fewer separate deliveries.
Groceries
Amazon grocery availability varies geographically and by service. Do not assume Prime means every grocery order from every partner is delivered free. Check the basket threshold and delivery fee displayed for your address.
Deliveroo Plus
Amazon currently lists a year of Deliveroo Plus Silver at no additional membership cost for eligible Prime members. Amazon’s current description says free delivery applies to eligible restaurant orders over £15 and eligible store orders over £25; service fees, distance restrictions and other terms still apply.
Use Prime as a comparison, not a reason to spend
Before ordering food or groceries, compare the final basket total including service fees, minimum-order requirements and product prices. A “free delivery” label does not guarantee the cheapest total order.
