How to Turn Cashback Into Amazon Vouchers UK (2026 Guide)

Can you turn cashback into Amazon vouchers? See how TopCashback Reward Wallet works, what to check before choosing gift cards, and why cashback isn't guaranteed.

Last updated: October 2026. Cashback rates, gift card lists and payout bonuses change often, so check the current terms before you buy.

Turning cashback into Amazon vouchers is one of my favourite small money wins in the UK. You buy something you were going to buy anyway, a bit of money comes back, and you choose to take it as an Amazon gift card, sometimes with a small top-up bonus on top.

In this guide I’ll walk you through exactly how to turn cashback into Amazon vouchers, step by step, using TopCashback, Quidco and a few reward apps. I’ll also cover how long it takes, when cash is the better choice, and the mistakes that cost people their cashback.

How to turn cashback into Amazon vouchers (step by step)

Here’s the whole process in seven simple steps. Once you’ve done it once, it takes a couple of minutes.

1. Choose one main cashback site

The two big UK cashback sites are TopCashback and Quidco. Both pay you back part of what you spend when you click through to a retailer from their site, and both let you take your cashback as gift cards as well as cash.

You can join both, but I’d start with one so your cashback builds up in one place and reaches a useful amount sooner. If you’re not sure which to pick, I’ve compared them side by side in TopCashback vs Quidco.

2. Always click through before you buy

Cashback only tracks if you start your shopping trip from the cashback site. Log in, search for the retailer, click through, and then shop in that same window.

  • Don’t open the retailer in a different tab or app halfway through.
  • Don’t use a discount code from another website unless the cashback site says it’s allowed, as it can cancel the cashback.
  • Follow each site’s tracking tips, which usually include accepting cookies on the retailer’s site.

3. Read the exclusions first

Every offer has terms. Some products, such as gift cards, delivery charges or certain brands, don’t earn cashback at all. Some retailers also only pay out cashback by bank transfer, not as gift cards. TopCashback says these limits are normally shown in each retailer’s exclusions and terms.

Thirty seconds reading the terms saves a lot of disappointment later.

4. Wait for your cashback to become payable

This is the part that surprises most people. Cashback isn’t instant. TopCashback says a purchase can take up to seven days to appear in your account. It then usually takes around one to three months on average before it’s payable, depending on the retailer. The delay covers the retailer’s returns period.

So think of cashback as a little savings pot that fills up slowly, not money for this week.

5. Move your cashback to gift cards

Once your cashback is payable, you choose how to take it.

  • TopCashback: you can withdraw by bank transfer or PayPal, or move it into the Reward Wallet and choose gift cards. TopCashback says gift cards can come with top-up bonuses, and the gift card should usually be ready by the end of the next day.
  • Quidco: you can choose an e-gift card from the withdrawal page. Quidco says gift card withdrawals come with a payout bonus (a larger one for Premium members), and the e-gift card is emailed the next working day. A 48-hour security hold can apply the first time you use a new payout account or gift-card brand; check the payment-run schedule and any brand exceptions.

Neither site publishes a fixed bonus percentage, because the bonuses change. Always check the current figure in your account before you choose.

6. Pick Amazon (if it’s on the list today)

Look through the gift card options for Amazon. The brands and bonuses change from time to time, so don’t assume Amazon will always be there or will always have the biggest bonus.

If another shop you use every week has a bigger bonus, such as a supermarket, it can be worth choosing that instead. A gift card is only good value if you’d spend that money there anyway.

7. Add the voucher to your Amazon account

When the gift card code arrives by email, sign in to Amazon.co.uk, go to Your Account → Gift Cards → Redeem a gift card, and paste the code in. The balance sits in your account and is used automatically at checkout, unless you untick it.

Tip: add it as soon as it arrives, so the email doesn’t get lost in your inbox.

Other ways to earn Amazon vouchers in the UK

Cashback sites aren’t the only option. These are the other common ones. Reward catalogues vary by account and change over time, so check what’s offered in your own account before you put time in.

8. Microsoft Rewards

Microsoft Rewards gives you points for searching with Bing and completing small daily activities. Points can be swapped for rewards, which in the UK have included gift cards. Check the Redeem page in your own account to see whether an Amazon gift card is available to you, and how many points it needs.

9. Survey and reward apps such as Swagbucks

Apps like Swagbucks pay small amounts of points for eligible surveys, offers or shopping through them, and the points can be exchanged for gift cards. Be realistic: it’s pennies per task, and your time is worth something too. They work best as something you do while waiting for the kettle, not as a side hustle.

10. Amazon Vine (by invitation)

Amazon Vine isn’t vouchers, but it’s worth knowing about. Amazon invites some reviewers to try products free in exchange for honest reviews. I’ve written about how it works in my Amazon Vine guide, and you’ll find more ways to pay less at Amazon in my Amazon UK freebies and vouchers guide.

Cash or Amazon voucher: which is better?

Take it as cashTake it as an Amazon voucher
FlexibilitySpend it on anything, including billsOnly at Amazon
BonusNo bonusSometimes a small top-up bonus
Best forBuilding savings, paying billsThings you’d buy on Amazon anyway
RiskLowEasy to spend on things you didn’t plan

My rule: take the voucher only if you already know what you’ll spend it on, such as nappies, household basics or a birthday present that’s on your list. If not, take the cash and put it towards your first £1,000 buffer.

Also remember that a voucher can’t be turned back into cash. Once it’s on your Amazon account, it stays there.

Mistakes that cost people their cashback

  • Buying something just for the cashback. Ten per cent back on something you didn’t need is still 90% spent.
  • Not clicking through first. If you go straight to the retailer, there’s no record of your visit.
  • Using a code from another website. It can cancel the cashback.
  • Forgetting about it. Check your account once a month and chase anything that hasn’t tracked. Both sites let you raise a claim if a purchase is missing.
  • Counting it before it arrives. Cashback can be declined if the offer terms aren’t met, or if you return the item. Treat it as a bonus, not as income.

How to keep track of your cashback

A simple list is enough: the date, the shop, what you bought, the cashback you expect and the date it’s paid. Five minutes a month helps you spot missing cashback in time to claim it.

If you’d like a ready-made tracker for your bills and renewals too, my Bills & Renewal Dashboard (my own product) keeps everything in one place. Before you renew anything, check what you’re paying with my subscription cost calculator.

What I’d do first

  1. Join one cashback site and use it for the next thing you already plan to buy online.
  2. Set a monthly reminder to check what’s tracked, what’s payable and what’s missing.
  3. When it’s payable, compare the gift card bonuses, and choose Amazon only if you’ll genuinely spend it there.

Cashback to Amazon vouchers: FAQs (UK)

Can you turn TopCashback into Amazon vouchers?

Yes, when Amazon is offered. Move your payable cashback into TopCashback’s Reward Wallet and choose a gift card. TopCashback says gift card payouts can include top-up bonuses, and the card is usually ready by the end of the next day. Check the current list in your account.

Does Quidco pay out in Amazon gift cards?

Quidco lets you withdraw cashback as e-gift cards with a payout bonus. Which brands are available can change, so check the withdrawal page in your account. The e-gift card is emailed the next working day, after any applicable security hold and payment-run delay.

How long does cashback take to turn into a voucher?

Usually weeks to months. TopCashback says purchases can take up to seven days to appear and typically one to three months to become payable, depending on the retailer. The gift card itself then arrives within about a day.

Is it better to take cashback as cash or vouchers?

Cash is more flexible and safer for your budget. A voucher can be better value if there’s a bonus and you’d spend the money at that shop anyway. If you’re not sure, take the cash.

Cashback to Amazon vouchers: summary

  • Choose one cashback site, and always click through before you buy.
  • Read the exclusions, and be patient: cashback can take weeks or months.
  • When it’s payable, move it to gift cards and check the current bonus.
  • Turn cashback into Amazon vouchers only if you’d spend that money at Amazon anyway.
  • Treat cashback as a bonus, never as income you’re counting on.
